Our partnership with InterBBS

InterBBS (also known as Diversity Network Services) is the Internet Service Provider which developed and maintained the membership portions of Jim's Penis Central for the first 3 years of its existence. Due to onerous new fees and regulations from U.S. credit card companies, InterBBS was unable to continue to provide credit card servicing to Jim's Penis Central beginning (in some cases) in July 2003 -- a situation which apparently became final in October, 2003. (Or did it? See below...)

If you had a membership in Jim's Penis Central billed through InterBBS (and/or Diversity Network Services), there is nothing to worry about. Why?? Because the InterBBS billing was restricted, not its content or services. The websites are working and continue to provide you with the content your membership paid for. Both Jim's Penis Central and InterBBS are committed to continuing your membership services through the end of your most recent membership period.

Better yet, the problem was with InterBBS's ability to bill. That means that you could NOT have been billed during the time of the membership service interrption, because... membership service was interrupted!

You have a choice!

It's up to you:

Do you want to continue your membership in its current form (with access to everything)?

  • Then DO NOTHING! You will continue to be billed regularly for your current one-, three-, or six-month membership.

Do you want to end the InterBBS portion of your membership and start with the newer, less expensive, less extensive plan?

Then do this:

  • Write to InterBBS and ask them to terminate your membership.
  • Your membership password will continue working to the end of its current term. To find out when this is, follow the instructions in the box to the right. *
  • When it stops working, sign up for the new plan.

Yes, it's that easy!

1 -- Use your old membership at the old locations until it no longer works.

2 -- Then go to the new location and sign up with the new system.

How to find out when your membership ends

  • Look at your credit card statement.
  • Find the last time that you were billed. Billings should have stopped sometime between July and October.
    • If you were last billed for $12.95, you had a one-month membership.
    • If you were last billed for $35.95, you had a three-month membership.
    • If you were last billed for $65.95, you had a six-month membership.
  • Memberships have been billed for renewal about two weeks before their actual expiration. So take the date of last billing and add two weeks to get the actual date of renewal. Then add 1, 3, or 6 months (depending, of course, upon your membership term). The result is your InterBBS expiration date.
    • For example, if you were last billed $35.95 on August 15, that transaction paid for a membership lasting from the beginning of September through the end of November.
  • Your membership gave you benefits provided by InterBBS, and other benefits provided by Jim's Penis Central.
    • The InterBBS benefits -- such as access to NewsPix and uncensored newsgroups -- will CONTINUE to be provided by InterBBS. Even if InterBBS is unable to continue to provide BILLING services to us, they will continue to provide their own Internet services through the end of your membership period.
    • The Jim's Penis Central benefits -- such as photos of gay naked gatherings, penis editorials and features, etc., will continue to be provided by Jim's Penis Central. Until the end of your subscription, continue to access those features at the old Jim's Penis Central address, www.phdtop.com/central/.
  • There is no need to formally coordinate your membership in the old system with the new system. Just continue to use your old membership as usual (as indicated above). When you can no longer access those features, then your membership has expired. Just go to the new membership page for Jim's Penis Central and sign up with the new system.


* NOTE:
Whether InterBBS will regain the ability to do membership renewal billing for us is unknown as of this writing (October 2003). If it cannot resume this service, then your current membership will run through the end of its usual period and you will not be rebilled. Write to sales@interbbs.com for clarification.

If the billing service is reinstated, don't worry about being charged for the months in between. Remember that the problem was with InterBBS's ability to bill. That means that you could NOT have been billed during the time of the membership service suspension, because... membership service was suspended during the time of the membership service suspension. (Duh!) If billing has resumed by the time you read this, then that means that all systems are functioning normally and your membership should work just fine.
